This Vermont wedding was certainly memorable! Usually when we say ”record-breaking” its something we’ve strived for – something that is the result of hard work and dedication, perhaps the culmination of a lifetime of hard work. We don’t necessarily think of “record breaking” in a negative way – and of course by “negative” I mean negative temperatures! But this is exactly the type of “record-breaking” Sara and Mick got on their wedding day.
The morning of the wedding began in -45 degree windchills at the Riverside Farm in Pittsfield, Vermont. Sara and her sisters got ready in the warm main barn, surrounded by loved ones and sunshine. Mick and his groomsmen shared glasses of scotch and jammed to 2000s hip hop as they donned their suits and ties (and under armor)! Sara slipped into her beautiful illusion top gown (and layers of leggings) and laced up her winter boots in preparation for formal photos in the sub-zero temperatures.
The couple shared a sweet first look before driving around the Riverside Farm property taking photos. How do you handle a photoshoot in these temps you might ask? Boxes of hand warmers, a running car and vents on high heat to pop into every few minutes! These two were champs at dealing with the cold and the farm rewarded us with beautiful sunshine and gorgeous locations.
Afterward, the couple warmed up inside the main barn before walking into their outdoor (yes outdoor!) ceremony. A short and sweet ceremony followed and at the first kiss, the crowd broke into cheers – half for the new couple and half in anticipation of walking into a warm barn.
These guests had no problem warming up during the cocktail hour with delicious food and hot drinks. The Young Phillies band announced the newlyweds into their reception and the couple shared a beautiful choreographed first dance and parent dances.
After dinner, guests heated up the dance floor with enthusiastic dance moves and smiles all around. The cold was soon forgotten and the party absolutely rocked the barn long into the night.
Congratulations to these adventurous newlyweds – may your love always keep you warm in even the coldest of winters!
