There is an energy to Lake Placid that you feel the moment you arrive. The village is smallbut extraordinary — world-famous for its Olympic heritage, surrounded by over six million acres of protected Adirondack wilderness, and filled with the kind of natural beauty that photographers dream about. Every season here is spectacular: autumn brings fiery foliage that frames the peaks in amber and gold, winter offers a snowy, fairy-tale elegance, and summer provides long golden evenings that seem to stretch on forever.
I have been photographing Lake Placid weddings for years, and I can say without hesitation that no two are alike. The landscape offers so much variety — mountain vistas, still lakeside reflections, old-growth forests, and the charming architecture of the village itself — that there is always something new and beautiful to discover. I approach every wedding here as a creative collaboration, working with the natural environment to create portraits that feel elevated and intentional.
Lake Placid occupies a very specific kind of beauty — dramatic, wild, and deeply romantic in a way that no other place in New York quite matches. The High Peaks rise above Mirror Lake and Lake Placid, framing the village in a way that feels almost impossibly scenic. Couples who choose to marry here tend to love adventure, nature, and the idea that their wedding day should feel as alive and authentic as they are. As a Lake Placid wedding photographer, I bring a fine-art eye and a documentary approach to this breathtaking landscape, creating images that feel timeless, emotional, and unmistakably rooted in the Adirondacks.

The Whiteface Club & Resort offers a classic Adirondack grandeur — expansive mountain and lake views, beautifully manicured grounds, and a historic clubhouse that photographs magnificently in every season. Portraits on the lawn with Whiteface Mountain in the background are among my absolute favorites.
Lake Placid Lodge is a boutique Adirondack jewel right on the water — rustic luxury at its finest, with hand-hewn furniture, stone fireplaces, and a dock that produces extraordinary lakeside portraits. Weddings here feel intimate and deeply personal.
The Whiteface Lodge sits just outside the heart of Lake Placid village, a true Adirondack great camp brought to life in grand, modern form. The combination of soaring timber interiors, stone fireplaces, and beautifully landscaped grounds makes it one of the most visually rich venues I photograph in the entire region.

I am originally from the Lake George area, which means the Adirondacks are not just a backdrop for me — they are home. I grew up hiking these mountains, swimming in these lakes, and falling in love with this landscape in every season. That personal connection to the region shows up in my work. I know where the light is most extraordinary at dusk, which mountain backdrops make the most dramatic portraits, and how to use the natural environment to tell your story in a way that feels completely authentic. When you hire me as your Lake Placid wedding photographer, you are getting someone who genuinely loves this place as much as you do.
