There’s something magical about fall weddings in upstate NY, and Lauren and York’s celebration at the historic Canfield Casino in Saratoga Springs embodied everything we love about the season. The day began with Lauren and her bridal party getting ready at Lauren’s home. Heart and Soul House of Beauty’s talented team created timeless looks that would shine from the church ceremony through to the last dance.
The couple exchanged their vows in a heartfelt ceremony at St. Pius X Church, where Father Walsh officiated. What stood out most was the genuine joy and laughter shared between Lauren and York – their love for each other lighting up the entire church. These candid moments are always my favorite to capture as a photographer, when couples are simply being themselves, completely wrapped up in their happiness.
After the ceremony, we took advantage of the gorgeous church interior before heading to Congress Park to take advantage of the fall foliage. The iconic Congress Park ponds and fall foliage created a stunning backdrop that perfectly complemented the day’s festivities. The couple and their wedding party boarded the historic Carousal and enjoyed fun candids.
As guests gathered for cocktail hour at the Canfield Casino, Nicole’s Catering served up delectable hors d’oeuvres while the newlyweds joined their celebration. The oak bar and parlor created an elegant atmosphere that perfectly captured old world Saratoga. Inside the ballroom of the Canfield Casino, Ivy Oaks Design transformed the historic space with breathtaking fall-inspired floral arrangements. Rich autumn hues created an elegant seasonal atmosphere that perfectly complemented the venue’s ornate Victorian details. The design struck that perfect balance between timeless and seasonal, enhancing the casino’s natural beauty while bringing in the warmth of fall.
The evening was filled with touching moments on the dance floor, expertly orchestrated by Experience Events. Lauren and York’s first dance as husband and wife set the tone for the night – a beautiful moment shared between the newlyweds. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house during Lauren’s emotional dance with her father, while York and his mother brought smiles to everyone’s faces during their lively mother-son dance. From that moment on, the dance floor remained packed – a testament to both the joyful atmosphere and the DJ’s ability to read the crowd perfectly.
Nicole’s Catering continued to impress throughout dinner service, while Zachary’s Pastry Shop provided the perfect sweet ending to the evening. I’ve photographed countless weddings at the Canfield Casino Saratoga Springs, there’s something special about seeing how each couple makes this historic venue their own.
